Generally speaking, the employer in the country of origin of the
apprentice has to pay the salary. He is the one who has signed the work
contract (The apprenticeship contract is usually a particular type of work
contract). Consequently, he has to pay the salary.
A « compensation contract » may be signed between the sending company and the host company.
